Girls, I love to save for money.
I got Kim and Kim with me and the three of us have been at Chick-fil-A sitting around the sports counters chatting it up. You know we got a lot of kids, we’re trying to figure out as women—you know, busy girls at work—how do you fit it all in, how do you save the money, how do you do it all and be it all? And I’ve decided we can’t.
But I got to tell you the one thing that you can’t sacrifice is your well-being, how you feel, and your overall health and wellness. Kim is a personal trainer—actually, both Kim’s are personal trainers. I mean this is one that collectively the three of us have all said yes, yes, yes. It’s quiet, it’s portable, it’s efficient and today we have it at an amazing price.
You’re gonna get the InMotion Compact Elliptical. This is the newer version with the handle so it’s super easy to use. You’re going to get free shipping and handling—it’s normally 142—and you’re also going to get a couple of DVDs to give you some ideas of how to use it.
How to Use It
Kim, I think how to use it is a big question. As a personal trainer, people pay you to teach them how to use an equipment piece just like this.
Just like this, yes. But I mean we have state-of-the-art equipment here. We have the Pilates makers, right? Make this product—Stamina. Stamina. So they bring us a well-built piece of equipment that weighs 26 pounds but will hold 275 pounds if you’re standing. But if you’re seated, there’s no weight limit capacity. It’s an elliptical.
An elliptical mimics the natural path of your ankles, your knees, and your hips while you’re walking without the impact because your feet don’t leave the pedals. That’s what an elliptical does and that’s why it’s so sought after when you go into a gym. And you know what’s interesting is you can do it forward, you can do it backwards. But now adding that resistance—we all know that muscle is a fat blasting machine.
Yes. But it’s interesting, now you don’t have to decide at the end of the day: do I get my exercise in or do I spend a few minutes sitting around the table helping the kids with homework? You know for me, I now could put this underneath my dining room table and while the littles are doing homework, I can work on this. I can pick it up and carry it into the living room and watch a movie.
Right. And it’s easy to use. Maybe you can walk us through the whole thing cause I’ll tell you what, that handle made all the difference in the world.
Full Body Workout Anywhere
Oh my goodness, yes it did. It made it easy for me because when my kids take their tubbies, it goes upstairs—I have it in the bathroom. I follow my kids around because you want to be with your kids, you don’t want to sacrifice anything like we were saying earlier.
But I’m going to step on this so now I’m taking this to a different type of workout because we have the resistance bands. My feet aren’t leaving the pedal. I’m working my lower body, I don’t have the impact on the knees.
Right, and I can go forward or backwards like you said so I’m working different muscle groups. I’m working more the hamstring when I go backwards, quads when I’m, you know, going forward. I’m working my core because I’m stabilizing myself while I’m standing.
Yes, resistance bands ladies! Resistance bands will build the muscle without making you super bulky—but it will define those arms quickly because it’s small muscle area.
Yes, we have again the torso working, so I can do moves like this—overhead press, I can work the shoulders. So you’re working your complete body, which is what I love with this.
Real Results for Busy Moms
Well, I’ll tell you what you’re gonna love is you’re gonna work this whole body and you’re going to see results. So I want to talk about some of the results because I think this is where a lot of us as women get—we get to that point, we’re like okay what’s going to work and what’s going to fit into my schedule, right?
Well, we have Leah here. Leah had just had her third baby. She had three small children. She needed 10 pounds to lose. But where is she going to do it? She couldn’t go to the gym, she has three small children. In the privacy of her own home, working out for 30 minutes three to four times a week, she was able in one month’s time to lose those 10 pounds.
Now again, she didn’t have to do 30 minutes at one shot, right? Because working out is cumulative. Your body is going to know that you’re working out—it’s going to rev up the metabolism. So if she can only get five minutes in the morning or when the kids are napping?
Sure. And it’s whisper quiet so you can do this in the same room. Well, let me tell you—if you couldn’t, my hubby wouldn’t let me do it while we’re watching movies. Because hey—the sound bar is on—we’re good.
Elliptical vs. Treadmill
Yes. Hey, I want to show you a little video comparing this because when you’re talking about getting an item home for 24 dollars and you’re thinking: is it really good?
Well, Kim, talk to me about the difference between an elliptical motion and a treadmill motion.
Well look, they’re both doing a very—it looks like a mild workout. They’re not, you know, really sweating or running. But the key thing is with the treadmill, because your feet are still coming up and down on that board, right? There’s still the impact. So it’s still your body weight coming down on the joints.
When you’re on the elliptical, because again of the motion that mimics that ankle, knee, and hip motion—yes—your feet don’t leave the pedal. So I don’t have that impact. Albany, I have bad knees, I’ve played basketball all my life. And there’s certain things that I have to take care of. And my knees are vital because I still have young kids. I need to be active with them. So I still need to get that cardio in.
Built to Last and Made for Everyone
And I love the fact that this can go anywhere in the house. It goes on vacation with me.
Oh my goodness. But one of the things I think is too—when you first get this home, these are nice big foot treads so you’re going to feel comfortable on this. You’re not going to fall off. I mean that’s a big generous size to fit on there.
Yes, this will hold a size 13 shoe. Wow. 13 shoe. And while I’m down here—if I can show you guys—this will grow with you also. We have a resistance dial so you can do circuit type training. That’s what I like to do.
If I have it on a low setting I can pedal quickly. If I crank it up high it’s like I’m doing that climbing that hill. Yeah, right? You’re working more of the quads, more of the hamstrings. Then we also have onboard electronics so we’re going to keep track of our time, distance, our count and our calories.
Give yourself credit. Give yourself credit. I like the fact that this time all of this information will stay here from workout to workout. It doesn’t reset unless you hold the button down to reset it.
So if you’re on a 10,000 step program, right? And you can’t do it in one day—if you get it done in two days—it will log all of that.
The interesting part is you’re going to get this home for less than a dollar a day. I don’t even know a gym—at least in this area—you can get a membership for one at that price for a month. It doesn’t happen.
Just Start—Even at Two Minutes
You can do this in your own home. And when you first start, how many minutes should you try for? You know what? You could shoot for two minutes, you know, depending on where you are in your physical, you know, being.
So if you’re just starting out—my dad’s 87 years old. Yeah. Like I told my dad—just start out with five minutes. He called me, “I did a half an hour.” I knew it! “I did it, I was watching the news.” He’s like, “I was just pedaling away.”
So anybody can use this. It comes with a DVD. It’s going to help you. Well, the DVD and the resistance band—in the past it did not come with resistance bands.
Active Sitting at Home or Work
I will share with you that when you get this home, you may do like what some of our people here at QVC do—and they put it underneath their work desk. So now they’ve got what they call active sitting. We sit more and more these days as Americans than we have in the past—and now you’re doing active sitting.
Maybe you’re typing, maybe you’re reading a book, maybe you are like your dad and you’re watching the news. Or maybe you want to stand up and use the resistance band—or stand up on your own. The good news is you have it in your home.
And in less time than you could actually get the car backed out and down the street—right—you’re done. Five minutes in, five minutes here and there—it’s there for you.
You can’t step over it—step over it—get on it. Love that. Oh Kim and Kim, so good to see you girls. We’ll talk to you soon. Hang on the line if you’d like to have that one. We’ve never done the free shipping and handling.
