Getting Started: How to Use It

Place the slant board on a flat ground or surface. If you’re new to this, start at level one to ease into it. Step onto the board, take a hip-width stance, keep your heels and the balls of your feet flat on the board, and make sure they’re parallel. Then, find a straight spine and breathe.

If that’s easy enough, move up to a higher level. You’ll feel more stretch by pressing your hips forward. The more flexible you are, the higher you can go until you feel a nice gentle stretch in the calves.

Need support? Place the board next to a wall or put your hands on your hips. You can also stretch one foot at a time. Bend your knees slightly with your heels down to move the stretch toward your Achilles tendon—from your lower leg all the way into the ankle.

Make It Dynamic

Want to take the stretch deeper? Place hands on hips, take a deep inhale, lift the chest, and bend at the waist while keeping your legs straight. You’ll now feel a full stretch in your calves, hamstrings, glutes, and even your back.
